The importance of art in education and human development is well-established, and high-poverty schools are historically under-served in many areas, not the least of which are the arts. The kids in these schools often don’t get as much art as they need, especially in comparison with schools funded well enough to provide a wide array of arts experiences.
Jester Educational Theater lessens the disparity in arts education by taking musical theater right to the schools that need it most. These kids learn social studies through the spectacle of professionally-produced original musicals with live musical accompaniment. Touch the heart and the learning will follow.
