EDI Statement

Jester Educational Theater believes that art and the dramatic arts in particular are a foundation of self development and a necessary component of early education.

We believe that this foundation enriches our appreciation of the world and helps us discover who we are as individuals and who we are in the world. JET is committed to sensitivity and appreciation for the unique needs and qualities of the individuals that we serve.

To that end, JET’s policy is to provide programs, employment opportunities and volunteer opportunities that embrace and welcome a diversity of religion, age, gender, race, color, creed, ethnicity, culture, nationality, gender identity, sexual orientation, military status, marital status, learning and expressive styles, national origin, familial status, political opinion, economic status, and mental and physical disability.

JET policy is intended to be consistent with State and Federal laws.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF LANDS

Our region sits on the traditional lands of the Multnomah, Wasco Cowlitz, Clackamas, Kathlamet, Bands of Chinook, Kalapuya, Tualatin, Molalla, and the many other tribes who made their homes in this area. We acknowledge the broader Native community who live in Portland and its surrounding communities today.

We also acknowledge humanity’s ongoing reshaping of the environment and the destruction of habitat for countless plants and animals that once thrived here Northwest Oregon and now struggle to do so or are vanished.
